PUCHI & JOANN COLÓN
For over two decades, Latin Music listeners in the US and abroad have enjoyed the Christian Latin music of Puchi Colón. Puchi (pronounced ‘poo-chee’) is a singer-songwriter, worship leader, musician and producer. Puchi is a native of New Jersey, and of Puerto Rican descent. His passion for his music compliments his sincere love for his savior, Jesus Christ and conviction to advance the Kingdom of God. Puchi recognizes his talent as a gift from God and surrenders it as an offering of Worship.
Puchi Colón released his very first solo album in 1996 Titled, “Voy A Comenzar”(Penvel Productions) and people immediately took notice. In 1997, Ralph Hernandez joined Puchi and formed his band and he has toured the United States, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala & Nicaragua.
In 1999, Puchi Colón married his Wife JoAnn in New York City and founded Jovi Music Group. In 2000, they released the album “Busca A Jesus” and also Puchi’s first English album “Salsa Praise” in 2001. Puchi “broke the mold” and gave the Gospel Music market something that it never really had, an entire Salsa Gospel album in English. In June of 2003, Puchi was awarded the honor of being New York’s Christian Radio (970dj) “Artist of the Year” for 2002-2003. In 2003, Puchi was signed to One Voice Records and released “Lo Mejor De Mi, Para El” (My best, for Him) which confirmed his ability to reach a diverse, multicultural audience. His acceptance in both the Spanish and English markets granted him the ability to reach the masses. Puchi is mostly known for his cross-cultural style of Latin/Salsa music that fuses elements from Latin Jazz, Tropical & Gospel music.
In 2004, Puchi Colón was invited to sing at the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC, under former President George W. Bush. In 2008, he released Salsa Praise 2 which includes a Latin Arrangement of “I Can Only Imagine”. Puchi Colon has also been featured on shows like TBN’s “Praise the Lord”, 700 Club (CBN), TCT Network & Medio Dia Puerto Rico on WAPA America.
Puchi Colón has served the local church, leading worship in English & Spanish, since 2008 and was blessed to record a Live Praise & Worship album in 2013 with Living Water Fellowship “We Worship You”. He also recorded two worship albums titled “Forever I Will Worship” (2016) & “We Await” at Calvary Orlando” (2018).
In 2019, Puchi was blessed to serve under the Leadership of Pastor, Dr. Tim Bagwell as the Worship Leader at "Word of Life Christian Center" in Lone Tree, CO alongside his wife, JoAnn, and their three boys, Mickael, Joel & Sammy Colón.
For many years the Lord had planted a seed in the hearts of Puchi and JoAnn. They knew that God was calling them to plant a church just didn’t know when. They fell in love with Saint Cloud, but not knowing the exact location and timing they quietly prayed for guidance and revelation of His timing.
In 2019, they began to pray and put the vision on paper and started the “planning process”. By 2020 they knew without a shadow of a doubt it was time to step out in faith and be obedient to God's call and started The Sanctuary Online.
In 2021, Puchi & JoAnn moved to Saint Cloud, FL, planted “The Sanctuary” together with their 4 boys and 20 other people at a home August 1, 2021. As they walk in obedience to what the Lord has called them to do, they are very excited to see Gods fulfilling His promises.
